  Silicone Sealants Market   Silicone sealants come in a wide variety of flavors and textures. The pressure-sensitive variety has a permanent tackiness and sticks to things that press against it. In contrast, the non-pressure sensitive variant releases no odor and is more suitable for use in interiors and exteriors. However, neutral silicone sealants are more expensive and require one to five days for complete curing. Acid-cure silicones are best for non-porous surfaces such as metal and glass. In contrast, the neutral ones work well on metal and wood.   As a general rule, neutral-cured silicone sealants produce less acetic acid during curing and are better for a variety of materials.
